Valley Flyer takes kids to the Ice Age!

14th, August 2009

Valley Flyer is joining forces with the Police to give Lower Hutt kids a treat by taking them to the movies!

On 21 August, over 120 students from schools in Lower Hutt will go to Ice Age 3 at Sky City Cinemas. To help make this event possible, Valley Flyer has sponsored two charter buses to ensure the kids get to and from the movie safely.

Lower Hutt Bluelight organised the event as a way to reward kids who have shown good behavior and commitment to their schoolwork throughout the year. The kids will come from over 13 primary schools in the Lower Hutt area and will be able to enjoy a whole movie theatre to themselves.

“At Valley Flyer, we believe it’s important to support the community we serve,” says Matthew Lear, General Manager of Valley Flyer. “The Bluelight trip to the movies is a wonderful example of our community coming together to celebrate the achievements of our children. We are delighted that we can help to make this a special day for all the kids involved.”

Bluelight is a Police facilitated organisation whose aim is to work with local community groups to increase the self esteem and confidence of young people.

“We are thrilled that Valley Flyer is assisting with the transportation of the children for this event,” says Community Constable Paula Harris. “It will be a great event and a great way to reward kids who may otherwise not be recognised for their efforts.”
