Runcimans welcomes Snapper aboard

17th, August 2009

From 31 August, Runcimans’ customers will be able to Snapper their bus fares.

Using Snapper will allow Runcimans’ customers to enjoy easier, faster and more flexible bus travel. By ‘snappering’ their bus fares, customers simply need to tag on at the start of their journey and tag off at the end and Snapper will calculate the zones travelled and charge the correct discounted fare.

Matthew Lear, General Manager of Runcimans, says the move to Snapper is exciting as it allows for more flexible access to public transport.

“GO Wellington and Valley Flyer both offer customers the ability to pay for their fares with Snapper,” says Mr Lear. “Now that Runcimans will be offering this option as well, customers will be able to use one card for all their bus travel in both the Hutt Valley and Wellington.”

To support a smooth transition to Snapper and to provide all Runcimans customers who have an OmniCard with the opportunity to pay by Snapper, a FREE swap out has been arranged.

To obtain a FREE Snapper, OmniCard holders simply need to grab an application pack from their driver, complete the application form and return it and their OmniCard to the driver. Any balance remaining on the OmniCard will be read and transferred to the new Snapper.

Application packs will be available from drivers from 24 August and must be completed and returned to the driver by 28 August. Customers will receive their pre-loaded Snapper on 28August.

Alternatively, OmniCards may also be swapped for a FREE Snapper at any of the Snapper stands listed below:
