New buses to hit the road for Valley Flyer
14th, January 2010
Ten brand new Valley Flyer buses will hit the roads of the Hutt Valley over the next eight weeks.
The new Scania buses, built by Tauranga-based bus manufacturer Kiwi Bus Builders, have a range of new features designed to increase the overall comfort for passengers.
“We’re excited to have these new buses join the Valley Flyer fleet,” says Matthew Lear, General Manager of Valley Flyer. “We are always working to provide the best possible travel experience for our customers. With the additional customer-friendly features these buses offer, they’re certainly going to help us achieve that goal.”
The new buses have super low floors and include built-in ramps, giving customers easier access when getting on and off the bus. The seat design at the front of the bus has also been altered to create more space, allowing people with push-chairs and strollers to enjoy a much more comfortable ride.
“At Valley Flyer we want to be the way our communities choose to travel,” continues Mr Lear. “We know that part of this is offering our customers the best product we can. These newly built buses are just one example of how we are actively looking for ways to improve our service and in turn get more people onto the buses.”
The buses will be introduced over the next eight weeks.
