NorthBus - New name, new era!

July 1, 2009

Whangarei buses are hitting the streets with a new name!

Adams buses are being rebranded and will now travel Whangarei with the name ‘NorthBus’.

“Adams has been a part of the Whangarei community for a long time now and is very well known locally,” says Dean Mitchell, General Manager of NorthBus Whangarei.
“We know that before long NorthBus will be just as widely recognized and respected.”

“Our bus drivers are an active and integral part of the community they serve. They know the people of Whangarei and they know the region itself,” continues Mr Mitchell.   “We wanted our new name to reflect the Whangarei community and so we thought who better to ask than the people who know the community and the service best – our bus drivers.”

“We got the whole team involved and asked everyone to think about a name that they believed the Whangarei community would identify with,” says Mr Mitchell. “After much thought and in-house discussion, NorthBus was the name we agreed would best reflect the community.”

“Public transport is about serving the customer,” continues Mr Mitchell. “To help achieve this we’ve invested in training for our people. Customer service training will ensure our people have the tools they need to be able to deliver the right attitude and provide the highest quality service for our customers.”

Despite the new name, there will be no change in the service that NorthBus will provide to the community. NorthBus operates urban bus services for the Northland Regional Council, under the name CityLink, as well as school and charter services.
